Area Retail Manager

Location: Glasgow, Scotland – Multi-site
Salary: £41,700 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Employment type: Permanent, Full-time
Expected start date: 1 October 2026

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Area Retail Manager to provide operational leadership across our retail stores.

Enaifo Foodies operates stores offering a combination of African and Caribbean food and grocery products alongside regular convenience groceries, serving both specialist customers and the wider local community in Scotland.

The Area Retail Manager will report directly to the Director/Owner and will oversee the effective operation and performance of our stores, working across locations to maintain consistent standards and support the continued development of the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple retail locations.

  • Implement and maintain consistent operating procedures and standards.

  • Monitor compliance with licensing, trading standards, health and safety and company requirements.

  • Manage, train and support Store Supervisors and retail teams.

  • Oversee stock control, procurement and inventory management.

  • Monitor store performance, margins, stock turnover and loss prevention.

  • Support the availability and effective management of African and Caribbean specialist products alongside mainstream convenience groceries.

  • Prepare operational reports and provide performance information to the Director/Owner.

  • Work with the Business Analyst and store teams to identify and implement operational improvements.

  • Maintain high standards of customer service and store operations.

  • Support the continued development and consolidation of the Company's multi-site retail operation.

What we're looking for

The successful candidate should have:

  • Proven experience in retail management or multi-site retail operations.

  • Experience managing or supervising retail teams.

  • Strong knowledge of stock control, procurement and inventory management.

  • Good organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations.

  • Experience monitoring and analysing retail performance.

In-depth knowledge of African and Caribbean food and grocery products is highly desirable. Experience in African, Caribbean, international food, specialist grocery or convenience retail would be particularly advantageous.

Job overview

Enaifo Foodies Ltd is looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Customer Service Assistant to join our retail team.

Our stores offer a combination of African and Caribbean food and grocery products alongside regular convenience groceries, serving both specialist customers and the wider local community in Scotland.

This is an entry-level retail position suitable for someone who enjoys working with customers and wants to develop experience in a busy convenience and grocery retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and provide friendly and helpful service.

  • Assist customers with product enquiries and locating products.

  • Operate tills and process cash and card payments accurately.

  • Replenish shelves and maintain well-presented displays.

  • Assist with receiving, checking and storing deliveries.

  • Support stock rotation and stock control.

  • Maintain clean, safe and organised store areas.

  • Assist with pricing, labelling and promotional displays.

  • Respond professionally to customer questions and concerns.

  • Follow company procedures relating to customer service, health and safety and store operations.

  • Work effectively with supervisors and other members of the retail team.

  • Assist with the availability and presentation of African and Caribbean specialist products as well as mainstream convenience groceries.

  • Carry out other reasonable duties required to support the smooth operation of the store.
